Mumbai: The whole Bollywood was shocked yesterday when the news of Malaika and Amrita Arora’s father Anil Mehta’s untimely death came to news. Soon the whole of Bollywood came to support the Arora sisters and their Mother Joyce Arora during their difficult times.
The whole khan family, Kareena Kapoor with her Husband Saif Ali Khan and sister Karisma Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ananya Pandey are among few of the celebrities who came to pay their last respect at their residence.
According to the latest details Mehta called his daughters a few hours before passing away telling them he was “Sick and Tired”.
Meanwhile, Malaika’s mother Joyce Arora reported that even though she and Anil were divorced they were again living together for the past few years. On her statement to the police, she said every morning Anil would read his newspaper on the balcony, on September 11th morning when she found his slippers in the living room, she went to the balcony in search of him but couldn’t find him there. Upon hearing a commotion outside she leans over to find the watchman screaming for help. This was when she realized something was terribly wrong. She also stated Anil did not have any major health problem apart from some knee pain.
Malaika and her family issued a statement yesterday evening requesting privacy during this difficult time.
In addition to this, the DCP crime branch Raj Tilak spoke to the media saying they are investigating the matter, but it seems to be a case of suicide while further investigation is going on.
